To prepare, mix the Gum Tragacanth (15 grams/ 0.5 oz.) in your mixing vessel with enough alcohol (vodka or grain alcohol) to create a very soft paste. Then add the water (1 liter) and shake well. This will swell into a gelatinous suspension that will require a couple of days to be ready. You may want to filter it through cheesecloth to be sure there are no remaining particles or inconsistencies in the preparation.

Add 3 drops of Clove Oil to extend its shelflife. The prepared Gum Tragacanth must be stored in a refrigerator in order to deter mold growth. It may be advisable to make small batches so the solution will be fresh rather than storing larger quantities for an extended period of time.

If you want to make Meglip Water add double the water and 2 additional drops of Clove Oil.
