Chrome Yellow Light is lead chromate/lead sulfate, obtained synthetically as a yellow crystalline powder by precipitation from a solution of a lead salt. Chrome yellow light has good hiding power with bright yellow hue and high tinting strength.

Details

Chrome Ocher is a mixed hue of yellow ocher and chrome yellow. An early twentieth century formulary gives the proportions as 14 parts yellow ocher and one part chrome yellow primrose, which is how we created this golden ocher in linseed oil.

Notes

Some separation of pigment and oil may occur in Rublev Colours Artist Oils and is a natural process when no wax or stabilizers are added to paint to prevent this from occurring.
