This Life-Sized, Anatomical Human Head on a base is great for learning facial anatomy, understanding facial muscles and proportions, and for learning portraiture and drawing techniques. It is also makes a wonderful piece for still life compositions. The face is shown with one eye closed and one eye opened; and has the cheek and neck musculature exposed. Any way that you light this head, you will be inspired to draw, paint, photograph or simply enjoy it as a work of art. The plaster cast is well crafted with details of muscles and tissue. Overall, the head, neck and base measure 22 inches tall. The face is approximately 10 inches high, and the cubical base is approximately 6-1/2 inches wide, high and deep.

Traditionally, cast drawing has provided an excellent way for the study of proportions, shape relationships and the effect of light and shadows on the human figure. Once the plaster casts are set up, they remain in place and can be drawn session after session in the same position and lighting condition. Plaster casts are ideal for drawing using the sight-size method or the triangulation method, another form of measuring, to reproduce shapes and relationships accurately.
