Rublev Colours Genuine Orpiment Artist Oil is an opaque yellow with very good tinting strength, brushes “long” in the direction of the brush stroke, and is medium to large-grained. Our orpiment is from natural mineral deposits in Asia, which is said to be more permanent and lightfast than the artificial yellow arsenic sulfide, known as King’s Yellow.

Some separation of pigment and oil may occur in Rublev Colours Artist Oils, and it is a natural process when no wax or stabilizers are added to the paint to prevent it.
