Smalt Half Pan
Rublev Colours Smalt is an intense deep blue color used by watercolorists in the 18th and 19th centuries and used in painting since at least the 16th century, although it has been found in paintings much earlier than that time. Smalt is a moderately coarse ground potassium glass of blue color with a definite violet hue. It has smaller particles than Rublev Colours Royal Smalt and also slightly a lighter tone of blue.
Note: Due to the large particles of this color, we recommend using this watercolor only with rough watercolor paper or with additional watercolor medium to aid the large particles to adhere to the paper.
