Yellow Travertine – Natural Earth Oil Paint
Yellow Travertine is a pale yellow‑beige oil paint made from natural travertine stone, offering subtle warm tones and semi‑opaque coverage, ideal for adding gentle earth colours to your palette.
Yellow Travertine oil paint is made with a natural earth pigment derived from travertine—porous limestone formed when mineral‑rich waters precipitate calcium carbonate. Travertine deposits are found at springs and river banks; when pure, they are white, but small amounts of iron oxide give our Armenian travertine a pale yellow‑beige tint. Travertine has been quarried since antiquity, and the name is derived from the Latin lapis tiburtinus (Tivoli Stone). The pigment is finely ground (mean particle size ≈ 8 µm) and contains mostly calcium carbonate with trace amounts of silica, iron oxide, aluminum, and sulfur. Yellow Travertine is compatible with all painting media and exhibits excellent lightfastness and weather‑fastness because its colorant is iron oxide.
In oil paint, the color has a low tinting strength, semi‑opaque body, and a gentle drying rate. It produces delicate warm tints in mixes and cleans easily when mixed with whites. Professional painters seeking subtle natural tones will find Yellow Travertine a valuable addition to their palette.

Notes:
Some separation of pigment and oil may occur in Rublev Colours Artist Oils—this is natural when no wax or stabilizers are added. Color swatches on the website are calibrated to the actual paint color, but variations in monitor settings may affect appearance. The drawdown images show mass tone and a 1:2 mixture with titanium white to illustrate undertones.
