The Fresco Grounds Set contains four different aggregates used in fresco plaster for the intonaco and scratch coats. This set allows the painter to explore the formation and application of plaster coats in fresco painting. These minerals can also be used in traditional glue grounds to create unusual textures.

Set Contents
White Carrara Marble Dust (0–0.5 mm)	Pure Carrara white marble ground to medium and coarse powder. Use this whiting to make grounds, for adding textural and handling qualities to paints, and as filler in lime for the intonaco layer of frescos. Particle size ranges from 0 to 0.5 mm.
White Carrara Marble Dust (0.4–0.7 mm)	Pure Carrara white marble ground to medium and coarse powder. Use this whiting to make grounds, for adding textural and handling qualities to paints, and as filler in lime for the intonaco layer of frescos. Particle size ranges from 0.4 to 0.7 mm.
Pozzolana	Pozzolana is ground volcanic ash composed of siliceous and aluminous material from Pozzuoli, Italy. Use in fresco painting to make hydraulic plaster for stronger walls.
Cocciopesto	Cocciopesto consists of fragments of bricks minutely crushed and is considered a metakaolin, which can be then mixed with lime plaster and was used in antiquity to make mortar or plaster for walls.
