Kölner Colnafix - Gilding Size for Kölner KGGG System

Kölner Colnafix is a water-based adhesive that is part of the KGGG three-part process, which includes a Sealer Primer and Fond burnishing clay. The KGGG Fond System replaces the time-consuming traditional Gesso and Bole water gilding system while providing a beautiful and bright gold finish.

After sealing and applying Kölner KGGG Fond Burnishing Clay, brush on Kölner Colnafix before applying gold leaf.

Surface Preparation

Gilded surfaces must be dry and free from dust and grease. It is best to sand the surface to make it as smooth as possible. Apply Kölner Colnafix on the Kölner KGGG Fond Burnishing Clay before applying gold leaf.

Cleanup

Clean brushes and tools with warm water and soap. Discard any unused solutions; do not return them to the container.

Storage

Colnafix: Keep the container tightly closed and avoid freezing temperatures or excessive heat. Keep refrigerated to extend its shelf life, which is about one year.
