Rublev Colours Genuine Orpiment Artist Oil is an opaque yellow with very good tinting strength, medium to large-grained, and brushes "short" in the brush stroke direction. This is a limited edition batch of 35 units, individually signed by the paint makers and producers and sealed with a wax seal on the outer packaging sleeve.

Rublev Colours Genuine Orpiment Artist Oil is an opaque yellow with very good tinting strength, brushes "short" in the direction of the brush stroke, and medium to large-grained. Our orpiment is from natural mineral deposits in Asia, which is said to be more permanent and lightfast than the artificial yellow arsenic sulfide, known as King's Yellow.

Some separation of pigment and oil may occur in Rublev Colours Artist Oils and is a natural process when no wax or stabilizers are added to paint to prevent this from occurring.

The drawdowns show the color full strength (mass tone), on the left, and mixed in a 1:2 ratio with titanium white on the right. The bottom area of the drawdowns is scraped to show undertones.
